About the Conference SiteBreitenbush Hot Springs is a wilderness retreat and conference center operated by an intentional community organized as a worker co-op. Located east of Salem, OR, it features forest trails, wood cabins, fresh vegetarian food, relaxing hot tubs, steam sauna, and free daily well-being programs (yoga, EDGU, dance, labyrinth walks) along with scheduled events. Accommodations at Breitenbush are clean and basic (not luxurious). Rooms and common buildings are hydro-electric powered. With a few exceptions, bathrooms and shower facilities are a short walk from cabins. Hot water is in abundance. Breitenbush is one of the most beautiful off-the-grid collaborations between humans & nature; it is a rare sanctuary to explore "being" in the abundance of nature. 2011 Registration CostsRegistration includes: Conference fees, vegetarian meals (vegan options), use of the hot springs and steam sauna per person beginning on September 5th with dinner and ending at 3pm on September 7th.
A fitted sheet is included in cabin and dorm rental, you may bring your additional bedding or rent them from Breitenbush for $16 per person / $22 couple. If you want to stay at Breitenbush for additional time before or after the conference, you need to make separate arrangements with Breitenbush. Check-in and Check-outThe main conference begins Monday, 9/5 @ 3pm; dinner is served at 6pm. Dinner will be followed by the conference welcome and keynote address by Rosalinda Guillen: Empowering Farm Worker Communities through Cooperative Development. The conference concludes on Wednesday, 9/7 @ 3pm. Travel SuggestionsIf you plan to travel by air, please make plane reservations in and out of the Portland Airport (PDX).
